Love in Action (International) Finance
How we spend funds
Love in Action is a Christian organisation
Love in Action is a Christian organisation that seeks to demonstrate God’s love in practical ways, by providing support, education and care for orphans and needy families in Uganda, especially those families affected by HIV/AIDS. We achieve this by identifying and supporting existing community-based initiatives with funding, advice and resources. We also create new projects to respond to unmet community needs. Our Financial Commitment: Transparency & Impact
At Love in Action (International), we believe in being fully transparent about how we use the funds entrusted to us. Our mission is to provide education, healthcare, and community support to vulnerable children and families in Uganda. Every donation we receive is used wisely to make a real, lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.
100% Volunteer-Run in the UK
A key principle of our charity is that we have no paid staff in the UK. This means that every volunteer, from our trustees to our fundraising team, gives their time freely to support our mission. Because of this commitment, every penny donated goes directly to where it is needed most—supporting our work in Uganda.

Where Your Donations Go
In the financial year ending 31st March 2024, we received £136,004 in total income, primarily from generous donations and fundraising activities. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us financially, prayed for us, or helped in any way.
We ensure that the vast majority of our funds go directly to Uganda. Over £122,000 was transferred to support the essential work of Love in Action Uganda, funding:
• Education – We run two schools: Christ’s Embassy Nursery & Primary School and LIA Christian Secondary School. Together, these schools provide quality education to nearly 500 students, many of whom come from disadvantaged backgrounds.
• Healthcare – The Kasaka Health Clinic serves over 2,500 patients each year, providing essential medical care to children, staff, and the wider community. Our two full-time nurses work tirelessly to ensure that those who need treatment receive it.
• Sustainable Agriculture – Our farm project is an important income-generating initiative, with over 10 acres of coffee being harvested. This not only helps fund our work but also provides practical agricultural training for students.
• Community & Faith – Our community church is a central place of worship and discipleship, strengthening Christian values among students and staff, which in turn impacts their character and behaviour.
Keeping Costs to a Minimum
One of the things that sets Love in Action apart is our commitment to keeping administrative costs as low as possible. We are committed to financial responsibility, ensuring that the maximum amount of funds raised directly benefits the children and families we serve.
In 2023-2024, just £1,792 was spent on administrative expenses. These costs cover essential UK-based operations such as banking fees, compliance, and maintaining financial records.
Financial Sustainability & Future Plans
At the end of the financial year, we had £29,320 in total funds, ensuring that we remain financially stable while continuing to expand and improve our work. However, the need continues to grow, and we are trusting God for provision to meet some urgent needs, including:
• A new kitchen for the secondary school
• More classrooms to accommodate increasing student numbers
• Better staff accommodation at the primary school
• An expanded dormitory at the secondary school
• A replacement school van for safe and reliable student transport

Help us build new secondary school classrooms
Our secondary school currently has 4 classrooms and 180 pupils, as we grow we need to add 4 more classrooms as we planned. These rooms will provide a computer suite, art room and space for additional subject teachers.
Each room will cost about £20,000 to build and equip (£30,000 for the computer suite), please help us with this exciting project.
